The stimulating properties of essential oils affect the area of the brain called amygdala which plays as a gatekeeper by storing and releasing emotional trauma. And the only way to stimulate amygdala is through the sense of smell.

Rosemary

Topical application and aroma inhalation are a couple of ways to use rosemary essential oil to improve concentration. A mixture of 2 or 3 drops or rosemary essential oil with a carrier oil and massage into your scalp, neck, temples, and forehead to stimulate blood flow around your head. Use 3-5 drops in a diffuser while studying or working to fill the air and provide a sustained effect on your mind.
 
Peppermint
Peppermint essential oil is great for stimulating and renewing the mind and calming the nerves at the same time. It's one of the morning pick-me-up essential oils that wakes up the mind, improves the memory and focuses your senses that's caffeine-free.
Peppermint essential oil is powerful that a drop is so strong enough for some. Diffuse a few drops of this oil in the morning and feel energized instantly. Dilute with a carrier oil, put it in a roll on bottle and have a "concentration blend" on the go. 
 
Basil

Eucalyptus
